How to disable Apple Maps auto navigation to home

Is there a way of turning off the Apple Maps “feature” that automatically selects home as your destination whenever you connect to CarPlay away from your home address? It’s creepy and irritating that it makes assumptions about where you are going.

A previous solution was to turn off important locations under the privacy settings, but this setting no longer exists as far as I can tell.

I'd really appreciate any help.

Hi katrine288,

According to Get turn-by-turn directions with CarPlay:

"CarPlay generates likely destinations using addresses from your email, text messages, contacts, and calendars—as well as places you frequent. You can also search for a location, use locations you saved as favorites and in collections, and find nearby attractions and services."
