Mac won't recognize password for software update

I have the same issue as in this post:

Mac won't recognize password for software… - Apple Community

Only thing is I can't get it to work.

It will not recognize my password when I try to update macOS Ventura 13.3, I have tried the following:

Reset password multiple times

Created another user with admin privileges - trying both user names and passwords

Created another user with regular privileges - trying both user names and passwords for new user and original user

I have tried to install update with "sudo systemupdates" but it will only download but not install.

I have even tried to install fresh os through recovery but there it gives me another error "system is trying to change preferences" no administrator found

In Software Updates- When I click on "Update Now" it ask for user name and password(which does not work), when I click on "more info" and then click on "Install Now" from there it goes me another window to input the password but the username defaults to "MacPorts" and I cant change the username.

I did copy everything on this macbook from an older macbook pro 2012.

Also, I dont see the user MacPorts in users & groups but it is listed under this command: dscl . -list /Users

MacBook Pro (M2 Max, 2023)
