Apple Watch metrics not showing on Apple TV Fitness+ app

When I start a workout on the Fitness+ app on my Apple TV, the metrics aren’t appearing from my Apple Watch.

Works fine if I just use the Fitness+ app on my iPhone.

I Love the watch, but when in Apple Fitness in Airplay, the metrics like heart rate, duration, etc are not displaying on the TV. My goal was to move from Peloton and Hydro rowing apps to just apple fitness, but not if the metrics will not mirror. I really hope this can be resolved.

Why is my Fitness app not updating on my iPhone and Apple Watch? The fitness app has several flaws that are quite disappointing, especially considering the premium price of Apple products. First, I am unable to invite certain people to compete with on the app—it consistently throws an error, which is frustrating. Second, there seems to be a synchronization issue between my Apple Watch and iPhone. When I update my fitness goals on my Apple Watch SE (running watchOS 11.2), the changes don’t reflect in the app on my iPhone 15 Pro (running iOS 18.1.1), and vice versa. Instead of displaying the updated goals, the app simply shows a dash (“-”), which renders it unusable. It’s surprising and disappointing to encounter such basic bugs on Apple products, especially after investing such a significant amount of money. I hope these issues can be addressed promptly. I found out what it was. I needed to go to the Fitness+ app on the Apple TV, then when it asks me to connect, rather than going to my name with my iPhone, go to, ‘other’. Then it prompts me to connect straight to my Apple Watch. Then the metrics came up when I started a workout!
