Locked notes asking to turn on Keychain

I had a locked note on this phone, then the phone had to get backed up and sent in to get repaired. Since then, after logging into my apple ID, it said I needed to turn on Keychain to access the locked notes, even though keychain is already on. Tried restarting my phone, and turning off and on keychain but none of it worked. Haven’t seen any other forums on this.

Same exact thing here. It was a little panicky because I have some notes for work that I have locked and suddenly couldn’t view. Here’s hire I fixed it: sign out of AppleID on the device that’s causing trouble, then sign back in. Settings -> appleid -> sign out. It’ll take a minute, then when it’s done, immediately sign back in.

DON’T LEAVE YOUR PHONE UNATTENDED WHILE YOU DO THIS. Once you sign out of Apple ID, your phone is disassociated with you until you sign back in. If someone gets a hold of it and signs in before you do, it essentially becomes their phone.

good luck

Hey there Rotiniphone,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities.

To get started, have you had a chance to update to the most recent iOS version that was released recently? If not, since updating can often bring the latest features and bug fixes, we'd recommend updating the iOS and test the issue again.

For help with updating the iOS on your iPhone, check out this link here: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

Update your iPhone or iPad wirelessly
1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
4. If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install.
5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do.

If the issue persists after updating, or if your iPhone is already up-to-date, then based on the information you've provided we'd recommend reaching out to Apple Support directly from this link here: Contact - Official Apple Support

Best regards.
