It won’t let me into my locked notes. I recently got a new phone cause my other one broke and I have been trying to unlock my notes. I know my password for them but iit says I have to turn on the keychain thing.(I have it on) what do I do?

I have tried to turn off the keychain and back on. I am trying to get into a specific one if some one can give some advice or anything I can try. Thanks

iPhone SE, iOS 16

Steph_88_88,

Let’s check a couple other things. In Settings, do you see any prompts to enter your Apple ID password to finish setting up your Apple ID? If so, let’s try to follow those and see if it changes anything.

Are you able to view your locked notes on the iCloud website? If so, let’s have you make a backup of them, outside of iCloud, for safe keeping. Archive or make copies of the information you store in iCloud

Notes
Make a copy of a note on your Mac or at iCloud.com:
1. Open the Notes app and select the note that you want.
2. Click File > Export as PDF.
3. Choose where to save the document to your computer.

Next, if there is any VPN or security software on your iPhone, please be sure to remove it, restart your iPhone and test again. This way if there is any communication issues with that software we’re removing that issue. Check VPN (Virtual Private Network) and third-party software to help resolve network connectivity issues

Thanks.

Hi Steph_88_88,

Since it shows the option turned on, are you getting the alert after attempting to click on the note in question or only when you click on the iCloud folder to view all notes in iCloud?

Also, let's restart the device by completing the steps listed here: Restart your iPhone that are also below.

"How to restart your iPhone 6, 7, 8, or SE (2nd or 3rd generation)

  1. Press and hold the side button until the power-off slider appears.

""

2. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, force restart your device.

3. To turn your device back on, press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo."

Best regards.
