iPhone 13 Ringer does not ring for text messages

No ring or vibrate notification for text messages after iOS 16.3 update.

I have tried just about everything to get it to ring without success.

Today I am installing iOS 16.4 .

I will try again when it is done. Anyone with suggestions, Thank You for

your kind responses.

I recently upgraded my phone from iPhone XR to iPhone 13, I was having the

same problem with the XR.

Hi Snickwah,

We'll be glad to help you out with this further. As you mentioned, go ahead and update to see if the issue persists afterwards. If it does, and this is isolated to text message notifications only, make sure your notification options are set properly per Change message notifications on iPhone - Apple Support

"Set the alert sound for message notifications

Go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics (on supported models) or Sounds (other models).
Tap Text Tone, then do one of the following:

Tap Vibration, then choose an option.
Tap a sound below Alert Tones.
Tap Tone Store to download an alert sound from the iTunes Store.
