I haven’t seen this pop-up before. How can I solve this problem?

Hi Alex-2323,

Thank you for participating in the Apple Support Communities. We understand when you open Contacts you receive a message that says "CardAv, wrong password." If you're using other contact accounts like Google / Gmail for example. You may want to delete and re-add those accounts. Here's how to check: Use other contact accounts on iPhone.

"Use your Google contacts

  1. Go to Settings  > Contacts > Accounts, then tap Google.
  2. Sign in to your account, then turn on Contacts.

Add contacts from another account

  1. Go to Settings  > Contacts > Accounts, then tap Add Account
  2. Choose an account, sign in to it, then turn on Contacts.

Access a Microsoft Exchange Global Address List

  1. Go to Settings  > Contacts > Accounts, then tap Exchange.
  2. Sign in to your Exchange account, then turn on Contacts.

Set up an LDAP or CardDAV account to access business or school directories

  1. Go to Settings  > Contacts > Accounts > Add Account, then tap Other.
  2. Tap Add LDAP Account or Add CardDAV Account, then enter the account information."

If you're using iCloud, then try restoring your contacts to an earlier version if possible. Here's how: Restore contacts stored in iCloud on iCloud.com.

We hope this helps.

Take care.
