Car Bluetooth Voice Dial Bug on IOS 15
Ever since I updated to IOS 15, my voice dialing has been messed up when connecting to my car's Bluetooth (2018 Chevy Equinox). I hit the button to tell the phone to call. It connects the call, but the screen skips on my phone and instead of the number I am calling appearing, I see my own number twice visible on the screen in my car. Meanwhile I get silence on my end of the phone and all the caller hears is static. I found two workarounds: Calls work as designed as long as a cable is connected to the phone or on Bluetooth IF you move the call from the cars Bluetooth to the phone's speaker, then back to the car's Bluetooth (meanwhile the caller listens to deafening static on their end until it finally connects properly).
I have been messing with the workaround now for almost 2 full years. We even changed phones from an 8 to 13 thinking it was an issue with the age of the phone... NO HELP! I have called Apple, who tells me that its something with my cars system, but I have troubleshot everything until I am exhausted by it all!
EVERYTHING WORKED FINE UNTIL IOS 15's UPDATE! IT'S NOT THE CAR!
This may be what gets us to a non-Apple product after almost ten years! I don't want to but being forced to do all the extra maneuvers just to make the phone work properly is dangerous while driving and EXTREMELY annoying that we have to jerry-rig an $900.00 piece of technology. It's unacceptable! Can anyone help?
