While I understand I cannot save a station in Apple Music, I cannot locate how to indicate that a station is a favorite. I enjoy lots of different music and sorting through recently played can be a bit daunting.

On a Mac, the closest I could get was sharing the station by copying the link, opening it in a web browser, and saving the URL to a folder. Just for aesthetics, I changed the folder icon to the Apple Music Radio logo, then added that folder to the dock and viewed it as a list. These links open in Apple Music by default.
On iOS or iPadOS, you can use the Shortcuts App to create shortcuts to readio stations you can access from the home screen.
But these are all workarounds. This is still not really what you want, which is to collect stations within the Music app the way you would collect songs into a playlist.

You can try bookmarking the station to Notes. Long press the radio station and tap Share and Add to New Quick Note.

At this time, it's not possible to save the radio stations, however, you can access your recently played stations in the Recently Played section of Radio in Apple Music. The feature to favorite a radio station really needs to be added to Apple Music. Trying to have options away from Sirius and this would be perfect to have to have a list of favorite stations easy to access for CarPlay.
The fact that you cannot create/save an Apple Music radio station to an Apple Music favorite list of some kind is bizarre.
