Iphone 14 Pro will not connect to 2008 Acura RDX

Saw a previous message from 2022 with similar question and older car. Just got a new iPhone 14 and followed instruction of pairing in manual. I kept on getting a timed out message from phone several times. The old phone was the only device that had been connected but that phone was stripped of info. I had a similar problem in 2020 and Acura wanted $175 just to check it out and $750 if it needed replacing. Do you think that the news phones are not compatible with the older car's technology? Going to write Acura.

Hi isj1,

We'll be happy to address this with you. If you're only experiencing issues when connecting to the car, then you'd need to reach out to the manufacturer for further assistance.

We'd also make sure you're following the pairing process exactly as outlined in Pair a third-party Bluetooth accessory with your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

"Pair your device with a Bluetooth accessory

  1. On your device, go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn on Bluetooth. Stay on this screen until you complete the steps to pair your accessory.
  2. Place your accessory in discovery mode and wait for it to appear on your device. If you don't see it or aren't sure how to make it discoverable, check the instructions that came with your accessory or contact the manufacturer.
  3. To pair, tap your accessory name when it appears onscreen. You might need to enter the PIN or passcode. If you aren't sure what your PIN or passcode is, check the documentation for your accessory.

After you pair your accessory, you can use it with your device. To pair multiple Bluetooth accessories, repeat these steps. If you have multiple Bluetooth devices paired with your iPhone or iPad, you can choose which audio source you want to use."

Cheers.

Thank you for this information. However, I was able to get it paired yesterday afternoon. I happened to go to a friend's home who lives in a neighborhood high on a hill. I pulled to the curb that had no trees and the sky was clear. Went through all the steps and within a short amount of time, the HandsFreeLink showed up and got it paired. I guess my neighborhood had too much electrical interference ??? :) Needless to say, I am happy again. I even got my Plantronic Bluetooth earpiece to pair as well when I got to the hill as that had trouble too.
