Mirroring via HDMI/Lightning connector

i’m having difficulty mirroring via HDMI/lightning connector with certain apps. These apps also pop up a message saying that mirroring is not supported at this time. I thought a hard connection like this was simply viewing your phones screen. Is that not the case? Is there a reason these apps have decided to no longer allow mirroring? I used to be able to mirror TNT, TBS, TruTV and others. I can get sound, but no picture.

Hello JAppleinfo,

If an application doesn't support mirroring, you'd have to contact the developer to find out what the reason is for that. If the applications are related to TV shows or movies, they often won't support mirroring so the companies can protect themselves from copyright issues.

You can use these steps to find an app developers contact info:

1. Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad.
2. Search for the app, then tap it. If you can't find it, tap the account button  or your photo at the top of the screen, tap Purchased, tap "Not on this [device]," then tap the app.
3. The app's product page appears. Scroll to the Ratings & Reviews section, then tap App Support. If you don't see App Support, make sure that you're signed in with the correct Apple ID.

Cheers!
