HomePod flashing volume lights
I was updating my HomePod to 16.4, during the process it started spinning the red light as if it was resetting, and then the plus and minus button lights started flashing simultaneously. What could it be?

The red light sounds like it was resetting but the white light sounds like it was updating. Per the article:
If a white light moves in a circle around the top of your HomePod or HomePod mini, then your HomePod speaker is turning on or updating software.
Keep your HomePod speaker plugged in while it's updating.
