Dropbox and iCloud Sync

So, I know it's been asked before, but the thread seemed to go nowhere.

I want to sync Dropbox and iCloud together. Why? Because I have ONE single piece of software that I use for writing that ONLY syncs with Dropbox across platforms, but ALL my other writing files are in Word or Pages and live in a specifically organized file setup on my iCloud Drive.

I don't want to lose that setup or move my writing to Dropbox because one developer can't be bothered to figure out how to sync appropriately with iCloud. It bugs me to no end that they have created this amazing piece of writing software that can work across the Apple Ecosystem, but can't figure out how to make sync work with iCloud. It utterly ruins my entire file system if I have to move ALL my projects from their specified folders to Dropbox just to sync them to my iPad, Mac, and iPhone.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, but I suspect advice will be along the lines of "Create an alias."

Thanks!

Hey there mcewan1976,

Upon researching your question, there's not a way to sync both iCloud and Dropbox together. What we did find was that you can sync files from both Dropbox and iCloud using the Files app. This link shows not only how to use Files for this purpose, but also shows that you can do with this both services under the section 'What types of files are stored in the Files app' here: Find files on your iPhone or iPad in the Files app

Cheers!
