I can't downloads apps I need do to my software update being so old how can I fix this?

Many application developers have stopped releasing new application versions for old unsupported Apple operating systems. If you need certain applications and thry now require a newer version of macOS, then you either need to consider purchasing a new/er Mac that supports those application requirements, or if possible, upgrading the operating system on your existing Mac.
