Nexo Secure

I foolishly paid Nexo Secure to add software to my computer to supposedly fix an "IP address" problem. Then realizing that it was likely a scam, I contacted Apple Tech Support who looked at my Mac and didn't think that they did any damage. I changed my Mac password and credit card immediately. They now want $6,000 to continue a "contract". Nexo Secure has a website. Their phone calls are annoying. Nexo Secure has no way to get money from me. I am wondering if anyone else has had dealings with them. I've reported them to the Federal Trade Commission.

It does not matter. Creating a website is simple and free and new ones appear every day that ends in a Y.

Now that you know, tell your friends, tell your family, tell everyone. Shout it from the rooftops. The Internet is a target-rich environment for scam artists all over the planet. Sadly, somewhat less than 100% of its population is aware of that fact.

Read Phony "tech support" / "ransomware" popups and web pages - Apple Community. Share it with others. It's not as though it's copyrighted or anything.
