Notifications for certain apps DON'T make a sound, even when sound is turned ON! Help!

I currently have an iPhone SE (2nd generation). On this phone, notifications for Twitch, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook will make a sound. However, notifications for YouTube and TikTok will NOT make a sound, regardless if the screen is locked or not. I even have notification sounds for YouTube and TikTok turned ON. Also, The "Do not disturb" setting is turned off. It looks like YouTube and TikTok can't fix this on their end. Apple, how can I resolve this?

Hi tbone3224,

There are a few steps we can recommend taking, however as this has already been isolated to an issue with those specific apps and your settings are correct, any fix would need to come from the app developer.

That said, we'd recommend the following steps.

Ensure your iPhone is fully updated: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
Ensure the affected apps are also up-to-date in the App Store.
Make sure the app remains open in the app switcher and it hasn't been swiped up to close it. After that, test if notifications work properly.
Ensure that Background App Refresh is enabled, and toggled on for the affected apps under Settings > General > Background App Refresh
Restart your iPhone

Should the issue persist from there, contact the app developers for additional assistance.
