Garageband download for Big Sur?

Hi there,

GarageBand stopped working on my MacBook Pro (mid-2014 model, 16Gb, Mac OS Big Sur v11.7.2). An error report generated and said I should delete and reinstall Garageband. So I deleted the program, and when I went to reinstall it from the App store it said the current version of Garageband cannot be installed on my older OS.

Can I download an older version of Garageband onto this MacBook? Looking at the version history it seems like I need Garageband v10.4.1 or 10.4.2 to be compatible with Big Sur (which is the last OS this age of MacBook can reach).

Solution found. Even though I'd deleted Garageband there was still some files remaining. Once I'd gotten rid of them I was able to download the last compatible version of Garageband with Big Sur; everything was automatically detected by the App store so there was no problem. Can I delete this thread?
