Ventura cannot detect my Thrustmaster usb joystick

So, I’m developing this game in Unity on my MBP M1 Pro and Ventura (13.2.1) and want to test it with different joysticks and gamepads.

Sofar I’ve got it working with xBox controllers and some Sony PS4 controllers. Today I bought the simplest Thrustmaster USB joystick, no drivers needed, just plug and play. But it won’t show up on Game Controllers in System settings. Unity can’t find it either.

One would think that anything connected with a usb cord would at least be detected.

Can anyone of you gurus point me in the right direction for fixing this issue?

Thank you so much.
