Can you confirm if the Apple ID signed in on the device to play it is the same Apple ID that was originally used to purchase or download it?

If it is, your next best step would be to Contact Apple for support and service.

If it isn't the same, you'll need to purchase or download it with the current Apple ID, or use the old Apple ID to play the content.
