Trackpad weird behavior on Safari using Google Docs

When I try to use Google Docs (Docs, Sheets, Slides) on Safari, and trackpad's Tap to Click option is enabled,

my trackpad often does not release the click when I tap.

I need to physically press the trackpad to release the click.

Has anybody experienced this bug? Thanks,

Random click issues with trackpad after MacOS Sonoma update on my MacBook Air M1 I updated my office laptop (MacBook Pro intel) and my personal laptop (MacBook Air M1) together to the new MacOS Sonoma after 15 days back. After that I started getting a similar issue on both laptops. The trackpad click (or magic mouse click) were not working in some random areas/buttons of the screen, but for the other places it works. Like for example, I'm able to click most items on my bookmark bar, but last 2-3 links are not clickable, as if the mouse hover is not detected. I was hoping that since many people are facing this issue, Apple would automatically resolve this asap, but the issue still persists and there have been no updates on this. Please look into this issue on priority as it affects my work. Thanks

Wikipedia - hover over underlined/linked phrase has stopped working in Safari Websites like Wikipedia have a useful feature whereby you can hover the mouse cursor over underlined/linked phrase and an explanation box sometimes with a diagram or photo will pop-up beside the cursor. As of a few weeks ago this feature has stopped working in the Safari browser however continues to work with Chrome and Firefox browsers. Restarting the MacBook has no effect. Using: Safari 16.6, Mac OS X 13.5.2, MacBook 14” M2 Pro

Hello tyskey,

To rule out any settings that could be causing your trackpad not to work with Google Docs, test this issue in another user account on your Mac.
