I’m copying a huge amount of files from My Photos on one drive over to the My Photos folder on another drive. I have the choice to Merge files. Does that mean it will only copy files that are different rather than creating duplicates ?

Thank you for reaching out to Apple Support Communities, and we'll be happy to help in any way we can. We understand you're having issues with moving photos. When you're asked to merge, it does mean that it will merge photos on the drive with photos you are moving.

Thank you Kelly. This helps a bunch. Is there a way to make it so rather than choosing to copy and paste that I could choose merge initially?
