PS4 DualShock controller on Apple TV

Apple states that PS4 DualShock controllers should work with Apple TV. However when pairing the controller, it briefly states the controller is connected only to lose connection a second later. Trying to press the PS button on the controller produces the same result. It works for a second only to lose connection again.

I’ve seen posts here going back a few years reporting an issue trying to use PS4 DualShock controllers with Apple TV 4K. I’ve tried the fix of disconnecting the Apple TV Siri remote, but it doesn’t work.

It’s sad to see that Apple hasn’t done anything about this issue, despite it having been an issue for so many for several years…
