2 Mac's Not Connecting to Each Other over WiFi - Ventura 13.2.1 (22D68)

I have a Mac Mini M1 and A Macbook Air M2. I have file sharing turned on on both. I am unable to connect from either to the other over my LAN. I can see each of them in finder but get a connection failed anytime I click on the other computer. Primarily I want to use the time capsule on my Mini to backup the Macbook. When that failed I tried sharing a folder and still connections either way failed. It's the first time I've been disappointed that macs don't "just work".

Does your router have a LAN firewall enabled? Or does either Mac have their firewalls enabled? Or.....Do you have any other 3rd party utility software, VPN's, anti-virus software? All of which could be adding unwanted protection.

Thanks for responding. I've tried disabling router firewall, both mac firewalls and Malwarebytes on both machines. No VPN or any 3rd party utilities installed. Both machines return the following error

"There was a problem connecting to the server “Macbook_Air_M2”.

"The server may not exist or it is unavailable at this time. Check the server name or IP address, check your network connection, and then try again."
