MacBook Air (M1, 2020) macOS Ventura 13.2.1 external monitor resolution problem

I have been using the BenQ EW2790U (27-inch IPS HDR 4K monitor) as an external monitor for years and it worked fine with my MacBook (connecting via HDMI cable). But after I upgraded to Ventura 13.2.1 this morning, the MacBook stopped optimising the best resolution for my external monitor. The default resolution is 1920 x 1080 (the size of everything is normal but too blurry), and I have tried changing it to 2560 x 1440 (slightly better, still blurry, everything is too small) and 3840 x 2160 (clear but everything is way too small). How do I fix this problem? It happened occasionally after macOS Ventura, but I could still fix it by selecting optimise for BenQ EW2790U. After upgrading to 13.2.1 this morning, the "optimise for" stopped working and all scaling are not ideal.

How do I fix it?

Sincerely

Benny
