Problems with external monitor after upgrading to Ventura.

After updating my 2020 macbook air M1 with Ventura I can no longer use my 4k LG 27UL500-W monitor, it gives me 1080p as the default resolution and when I rescale it to 4k from the settings, it also scales all windows, folders and docs making it impossible to use (all too small to be remotely usable). The set up is exactly the same as before the update, so it's definitely not a problem of how the monitor is connected with the pc (HDMI with an original apple adapter). I hope something can be done about it.
