I frequently use screen mirroring (see pics) to show short videos to students and have found that any video projects that I’ve made and uploaded to YouTube will not play when I’m using screen mirroring. (They’ll play just fine when I’m not using screen mirroring.)
anyone know why or how to fix this issue?

apps can choose to block mirror if the content provider feels airplay removing their DRM is a security issue for their content
if it's only with your youtube app you get that issue then if you have the appletv box you can install the youtube app on that
or you can reach out to google and request they don't disable airplay mirror
