Parental controls just reset themselves every day

Does anyone know why my son’s iPhone has started to reset parental controls every day? He definitely hasn’t hacked it. About every 24 hours I have to set them up again because all settings are lost. When it resets itself he has unlimited access to adult websites (he’s 14!!) and unlimited access to all apps any time of the day and night. I’ve seen other posts like this and can’t see that anyone has found a solution. It must be a bug and it started seemingly spontaneously. My daughter’s iPhone is unaffected and her parental controls remain active unless I change them. Help! It’s starting to drive me crazy always checking and resetting.

….and before ANYONE suggests it - yes I’ve rebooted, switched off and on again, removed and reapplied screen time settings many times - to no avail.

Same here. In the end I just gave up and manually reset the parental controls on a daily basis - this went on for about 2 months! Then one day it just stopped happening (spontaneously again) and now they’re set and don’t seem to change. It’s weird and very very frustrating.

I’ve been having the same exact problem, but on all three of my kids devices! I’ve posted multiple times in the discussion threads and nobody has been able to offer anything helpful or different than what I’ve already tried. I even have screen recordings of me setting their restrictions and then the restrictions spontaneously resetting!!!

The next thing I’m trying is reporting it as a button to Apple using this link Feedback - iPhone - Apple

Go to Settings and tap Screen Time. Tap Content & Privacy Restrictions and enter your Screen Time passcode. Tap Content Restrictions, then tap Web Content. Choose Unrestricted Access, Limit Adult Websites, or Allowed Websites Only.

Use parental controls on your child's iPhone, iPad, and iPod ...

Set up parental controls with Family Sharing on iPhone

  1. Go to Settings > [your name] > Family Sharing > Screen Time.
  2. Tap the name of a child in your family group, tap Turn On Screen Time, then follow the onscreen instructions.

Thanks but I know all this. The issue isn’t that I don't know how to set parental controls, it’s that the controls I have set keep being wiped - on a daily basis - resetting so I have to go through the setup procedure every day. And no, my son doesn’t know the passcode or know how to wipe them. He’s largely oblivious to this happening but it means he has unrestricted access when it does.
