Facebook Messenger ignores Notifications sound settings

I have sound off for Messenger, yet when someone makes an audio call to me on Messenger it rings my phone anyways (w an annoying ringer sound)

This seems like a major problem in iOS if an app is allowed to “ignore” iOS settings.

Notification sound often not working properly when you received a message, even a reaction on your messages. I already uninstalled/reinstalled the app and restarted my device, but same issue persist? Facebook is not sending sound alert notification on my iPhone 14 Pro Max acebook notifications on my iPhone refuse to play sounds. I’ve checked every setting, reinstalled the app, reset my phone, and even spent two hours with Apple Support—everything is set up correctly, but Facebook still won’t send sound alerts. This is clearly a Facebook issue, not an Apple one. To make matters worse, there is absolutely no support from Facebook—no way to reach a real person, just useless help articles that don’t solve the problem. For a platform this big, the lack of customer service is ridiculous. Until they fix this, the app is unreliable for real-time updates. Any ideas? [Re-Titled by Moderator]
