Wifi is not turning on MacBook, tried resetting the nvram 2 or 3 times

The wifi is not letting me choose to turn on wifi. The wifi drop down box opens but not letting the Mac to turn on wifi

Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Network, do you get the option to pick a network name when WiFi is selected? Or are there no networks available.
Have you tried enabling a hotspot on your cell phone to see if it shows up on your Mac?
Have you made sure your cell phone can reach the WiFi network in question and browse the web on it?
Wifi is not turning on
