Mute or Skip Notification on AirPods just once

I want to stop Siri from reading a notification on my AirPods? Not completely stop, I still want it announced, but if I don't need it to read the whole thing, or if I'm talking with someone in person, I want to be able to skip / mute that reading. Ideas?

Again, I don't want to turn off notifications completely. I just want to know how to stop one being read one-off.
