ipad times differ one minute screen display vs. clock icon

Why was time shown at upper left on iPad screen exactly one minute behind the correct time, which WAS being shown by the clock icon? Toggling the auto time setting did not fix, but it was fixed by power cycling the iPad. (But for how long?)

Obvious glitch by Apple. My iPad was exactly 1 minute behind today, never was before. Turned off Set Automatically, waited 15 seconds, turned it back on and it corrected itself.

Hello dlflannery,

We understand you're seeing a discrepancy between the time that is displayed on your iPhone and what the Clock app says.

Let's follow the steps below to help get the times correct between the two.

  1. Go to Settings  > General > Date & Time.
  2. Turn on either of the following:
    • Set Automatically: iPad gets the correct time over the network and updates it for the time zone you’re in. Some networks don’t support network time, so in some countries or regions, iPad may not be able to automatically determine the local time.
    • 24-Hour Time: (not available in all countries or regions) iPad displays the hours from 0 to 23.

To change the default date and time, turn off Set Automatically, then change the date and time displayed.
