New Episodes for Paramount Plus Shows Not Appearing in Up Next Automatically

I subscribe to Paramount Plus outside of Apple TV. I added Paramount Plus shows to Up Next (mostly CBS shows) in Apple TV. Many times, new episodes from these shows do not appear in Up Next automatically. When I then search for the shows in Apple TV and open a new episode, I am invited to sign up for the Paramount Plus add-on within Apple TV. I then have to go to the details screen and force Apple TV to open the episode in Paramount Plus.

How do I configure Apple TV to track these shows in the standalone Paramount Plus app only and forget about the add-on? I think that will help me avoid missing episodes.

Add a movie, TV show, or sports event to Up Next

1.) On the Watch Now screen in the Apple TV app , select an item to see its rating, description, available viewing options, and purchase or rental information.

2.) Select Add to Up Next. A notification appears confirming that the item has been added.

If everything is properly set up and you continue to experience this issue, there are some additional steps you can try:

1.) Restart your Apple TV. This can help refresh things.

2.) Delete and reinstall the Paramount app. Keep in mind that you might have to set up Up Next again (the previous steps we shared above).

3.) Install any pending updates that might be available for your Apple TV. This can help with performance and also help resolve various issues.

Hello. There were a couple new episodes in the Paramount+ app from Monday evening (The Neighborhood and Bob Hearts Abishola), but they did not appear in Up Next. When I searched for them in Apple TV, I am again being prompted to subscribe to the Paramount+ add-on. Once again, I have to force Apple TV to open the episode from the Paramount+ app. If there is a way to disable the Paramount+ add-on or to set the default app for these shows permanently, that would be awesome.

Thank you. I contacted Apple. The issue was escalated, and they basically decided it is an issue with the Paramount+ app. Unfortunately, one rep at Paramount+ does not agree and won't do anything about it. I was told to talk to Apple TV.

So, I'm still trying to troubleshoot this myself. Here's a question. Does my email login for Paramount+ need to match my Apple ID? I don't know what mechanism Apple TV uses to recognize that I have a subscription with Paramount+.
