Sync issue with Notes (Ventura MacOS)

Hi,

I have several Apple devices with good iCloud synchronisation but with a MacBook running Ventura (13.1) the Notes are not sync'up whereas other services are (only Notes has this issue).

I have tried to disconnec/reconnect from iCloud, uncheck/check Notes from iCloud, reboot the macBook, etc. but the issue is still here.

Any ideas?

Let's rule out some possible causes, along with confirming more details to better understand what's happening:


  1. You mentioned that no other devices have this same issue that are signed into the same Apple ID for iCloud Notes, so when did this start to occur with your Mac?
  2. Do notes written on your Mac not show on iCloud, do notes written on other devices not show, or are both behaviors occurring on your Mac?
  3. If you have a compatible MacBook Air model, the latest version is macOS 13.2.1. You can verify this by clicking on the Apple logo at the top left corner of the screen, then on ‘About This Mac’. In case you needed it, this link shows how to first back up, then Update macOS on Mac.

At this time, we'd like to for you to access safe mode and try to enable iCloud Notes there. Completing this step can help you identify whether issues you’re experiencing are caused by software that loads as your Mac starts up. Your screen may flash and load slower. This is expected behavior for this mode: How to use safe mode on your Mac


Once you've tested the issue in safe mode, restart your Mac and verify if the issue still persists.

Does the issue happen with a specific user? If you do not have an alternate user you may need to create one to test with. Here's more information on that process: Change Users & Groups settings on Mac - Apple Support.


If the issue does not happen while connected to another user name, the issue may be related to a login item on your Mac that is related to that specific user. This article will guide you on how to remove login items to test it out: Remove login items to resolve startup problems on your Mac - Apple Support.

Hi,


  1. not easy to have the date it starts to occur but I would say end of 2022. Since I have unceked/checked the Notes in iCloud, I have lost all the notes in the Notes app on MacOs. The iCloud logo keeps on turning again and again....)
  2. both behaviors
  3. 13.2.1 is the version of my McOS (updated recenlty - same behavior)
