Dolby Atmos Music on Lg Tv

Hello together

Is it possible to play Dolby Atmos / high res music on the Tv or is that still comming?

The whole thing does not work via AirPlay 2, since no Dolby Atmos stream is possible here.

With the LG app it does not work for the same reason.

An Apple TV 4k doesent ether, because I use the only eARC capable port for the Denon Reciver and thus no Passtrought is possible.

Does anyone have any other ideas or is there nothing I can do?

Thanks a lot

Thank you for the response.

I am trying to refine the question

I'd like to listen to Dolby Atmos music on the TV.

I have an AV receiver with 5.1.2 Atmos connected to the HDMI-eARC.

It's not possible to connect an Apple TV 4K, as most TVs only have one eARC connection, and the Apple TV 4K and the AV receiver each require one.

So I don't see any way for the Atmos signal to reach the receiver.

A pass-through via the HDMI 2.1 connection on the receiver also doesn't work, as I have other devices like the PS5 connected to the TV, so no sound reaches the receiver.

The LG CX would support Airplay 2, but I can't stream Dolby Atmos over it. There's also a separate Apple Music app for the TV, but I can only reach lossless audio there and not Atmos.

The main question is: is there another possibility, or does anyone have an idea of how this could be possible?

Constantly switching cables would also not be a good solution.

Many thanks.

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities KingGGvider,

The following information details the available audio formats, and the setups their compatible with:

Audio formats supported on Apple TV

Apple TV 4K and Apple TV HD automatically play sound in the highest quality that's supported by your home entertainment system setup and that's available with content that you watch.

If your home entertainment system doesn't support the audio format that Apple TV automatically selects, you can manually change the audio format. Go to Settings > Video and Audio > Audio Format and turn on Change Format. From here you can choose the following:

• Dolby Digital 5.1: Plays audio on multiple speakers and a subwoofer, like a 5.1 speaker setup.
• Stereo: Supported audio quality for all televisions, movies, and TV shows that plays sound through a right and left channel.

Setups you can use

On Apple TV 4K with the latest version of tvOS, you can listen to music, movies, and TV shows in Dolby Atmos. You can use the following setups to play sound in Dolby Atmos or surround sound:

• One or two HomePod speakers*
• A television that supports Dolby Atmos audio
• A Dolby Atmos compatible sound bar with a television that supports Dolby Atmos audio
• A Dolby Atmos-enabled AV receiver

Play audio in Dolby Atmos or surround sound on your Apple TV

We hope this helps!
