Interface stopped working - audio / midi / data from USB stick.

USBC port problem


I normally connect my iPad Pro 12.9 to my Roland DuoCapture to record mic, line audio and midi signals through the USBC Port

The interface midi audio signals will connect correctly to my iPhone. 

The interface cable has been replaced. 


The USBC port will correctly connect to charge the battery.


noted upper right hand usb icon is present for about 7 seconds and disappears


I recently updated to 16.3 iOS. How can I roll back the iOS?

Thank you for your response. I had the support of your call back service from Apple and found the specialist to be very helpful. However the problem diagnosis was still unsolved.


I purchased an iPad Pro after visiting the Apple Store in London Ontario. They allowed me to connect a passive midi keyboard to the new iPad Pro. It worked as it should have.


Not a comprehensive test with my Roland Duo Capture but worked. My iPad Pro 2018, use to work.


The new iPad Pro worked flawless on all cable, connectors and cables regardless of the configuration!


Then I noticed the iOS was not 16.3 but 16.1.1


I have not updated the iOS…… yet

We understand that you may feel downgrading your iPadOS is your best course of action at this time. However, when Apple releases an update to the iPadOS software, it often fixes many vulnerabilities. Additionally, developers have already begun optimizing applications for the new software, so remaining on the outdated iPadOS could cause compatibility issues with your device regarding your favorite apps. Due to this, and for the security of your iPad, downgrading the iPadOS is not something that Apple is able to support.


We would advise reaching out to the manufacturer of your Roland DuoCapture equipment / software to determine if there is a compatibility update available in the form of a software update or a firmware update.
