mac mini 2012 to new M2 with Thunderbolt Display

I would like to upgrade from my 2012 Mac Mini to the new Mac Mini M2 soon.

I'm currently using Thunderbolt Display from 2014 and I may have to keep the display for

a while because of the budget adjustments.

May I ask if the new M2 mini works with the already a decade old Thunderbolt Display?

Any adapters? If so, which one?

You will need a Thunderbolt adapter.

So, Thunderbolt 4 (M2 Mini's) are the same as Thunderbolt 3 as for the display output.
