Focus silencing notifications incorrectly

When I turn on personal focus, I have it set to block notifications from no apps, or just one app. However, all my notifications end up silenced. Is this correct behavior?

Hi greg998,

We would love to help see if we can resolve the issue for you, so you can get the notification you'd like to receive. Let's try to go ahead and see if we can get this resolved by checking the below settings to ensure that everything is set up the way it should be. First, let's go ahead and delete the personal focus, then set it up again adding the apps that you don't want to receive notifications for.

  1. "Go to Settings > Focus.
  2. Tap the Focus, scroll to the bottom of the screen, then tap Delete Focus.

If you delete a provided Focus, you need to set it up again by going to Settings > Focus."

If the issue remains, try setting it up and selecting instead the apps that you would like to allow notifications from to see if that resolves the issue for you.

Here are some additional things you may want to check when setting up a Personal Focus: Set up a Focus on iPhone - Apple Support

We'd also like to add that if you have a Focus set up on another device that is signed into the same Apple ID, those Focus settings may override the Personal Focus you've set up on your device.

Cheers
