MacOS blank email

Most but not all email arrives with nothing but a Subject Line and Address Fields. Email containing only text arrives fine but if the email has embedded HTML most of the time the email body will be blank. I can see the complete email on my iPhone so I know yahoo.com mail server is doing its job.

Currently on MacOS Big Sur 11.7.3 but pretty sure it started on a earlier version.

Would really like to fine a solution to this issue. Thank you.

Update ** It appears I have stumbled into a fix. And here is how:

Select an email that has a blank body. Select Mailbox>>Rebuild

Click out of the mailbox then back to the mailbox, Select the email that WAS blank and now the body is displayed with text and graphics. I'm not yet sure if this fixes all email going forward or just recovers previous email.

Would love to hear some comments on what exactly Rebuild does. Thanks.

Hi lzhome,

Although you are receiving the email, but the body is blank, let's try to resolve the issue by completing the steps listed here: If you can’t send or receive email on your Mac - Apple Support in which some of the steps can be found below.

" Remove your email account, then add it back

If no other solutions work, follow these steps:

  1. Remove your email account in Mail.
  2. Add your email account in Mail again.
  3. Try to send and receive email."

Best regards.

Well unfortunetly that did not change anything. I'm still getting emails with a subject line and the body is blank. And it is always email with html graphics.

I checked the source on the message and all of HTML is there but it is not decoding the HTML code; its like the email program doesn't even see the HTML in the message.

Thank you but still open to any suggestions. Thanks.
