Mac group messages to both iOS and Android

All, I am having a rough time trying to find a definitive answer on the question of group messaging and why sometimes messages go as individuals and sometimes as groups when the group has both iOS and Android users.

I see on iPhone you can turn on MMS and Group texting but there is no such setting on Mac (at least that I can see).

I have several groups that contain both types of users and some of the groups go out as a group and some as individuals. I just can't pinpoint why they are different.

Does it have something to do with creating the group on the Mac vs creating the group on my iPhone?

Any help here would be great because I can't find anything clear on this!!!

Thank you!

a Mac alone can't send MMS message, you will need to set this up click here Forward SMS/MMS text messages from your iPhone to your Mac or iPad - Apple Support

razmee209 I appreciate your time in responding! I apologize for not saying this to begin with but that is already setup on all my devices.

That is partly why it is so confusing! I am starting to assume it is only group texts I start on my MacBook. I will have to do some more testing to try and verify this. I just can’t believe there isn’t information out there for this already.

thanks again!

I would try turning off iMessage on all of your devices and then restart them. Turn it back on on your iPhone. Wait until it's activated on the iPhone then enable it on your other devices. Then, go back in and re-enable Settings>Messages>Text Message Forwarding from your phone.

Sometimes, things get a bit stuck and doing the configuration from scratch gets them unstuck.
