Numbers - Slow, Glitchy - What's the reason?

Hi,

I am working on a small Numbers spreadsheet. Only 5 tabs. When trying to scroll through, there's a delay in response times. And the spinning wheel often shows up.

Im on a 2019 MacBook Pro with 32 GB RAM, 2.2 Gb I7 Intel processor.

Has anyone experienced / is experiencing this? Any solutions?

Thanks

I suggest you check the memory pressure on your machine.

To do this, open the Utilities folder (path "Applications/Utilities", then launch the app "Activity Monitor"

If the chart at the bottom is showing

yellow (or red/orange) then you need to quit some applications. Restarting you machine can definitely help.

You may be able to avoid restarting by quitting the offend application.

This is unusual. It seems very unlikely that any sluggishness is related to the size of your Numbers document.

Have you tried ?

-- making sure you are running the latest macOS your hardware can support (Software Update)

-- making sure you have updated Numbers to the latest version you setup can support

-- restarting your Mac

-- signing into another user account on your Mac and seeing if there is still sluggishness there

(If necessary) you could also try deleting Numbers by going to Launchpad and holding down the option key until the icons wiggle, and clicking the x by Numbers, then redownloading Numbers from the Mac App Store.
