I am trying to add my debit card and the expiration date is valid and it’s telling me it isn’t.

My debit card was linked to my Apple Pay for years and never had an issue and now all of a sudden, it’s telling me my expiration date for the card needs to be valid between 2023-2024 and it is. I have automatic payments that come out of there. What is the problem?
