macOS Ventura does not detect devices connected via Hdmi port on USB-C hub

Hi,

since upgrading to macOS 13 (13.2), my computer does not seem to detect my external display which is connected via the hdmi port on my usb-c hub (StarTech). Besides downgrading to Monterey (which I can't since these settings are run by my company's system admin), what can I do?

Thanks in advance.

I don't think any of that works well through a hub unless the hub actually has an HDMI output and is compatible.

I have seen reports of some hubs not working with Ventura. I have one USB-C dongle hub that does work. I would imagine the issue revolves around the chipset used in the hub. I don't have access to my hub to see if I can figure out where to find that information, if it is available.

I also connect via a usb-c dock with an HDMI port. Sometimes it appears that the display is not working but it is usually a matter of turning it off and back on. Check in System Information to see if your mac is detecting the display or not (hold down option key and choose System Information from the Apple menu, then see what appears under USB and under Displays)
