Hi community. I keep receiving a popup on my MacBook Pro prompting me to accept and agree to new icloud terms and conditions, if I want to use iCloud on my machine. Every time I accept these terms and conditions, the popup prompt keeps resurfacing.

I need help with accepting the terms and conditions for iCloud usage on my MacBook Pro

Hey there mwisha,

That is a strange issue to occur, especially since you choose to accept the terms/conditions when it prompts you for it. Let's start with confirming more details to better understand what's happening, along with ruling out some possible causes:

  1. When did this start to occur on your Mac?
  2. Where does this prompt show in your Mac?
  3. If you have other devices signed into the same Apple ID for iCloud, do those other devices have the same issue?
  4. Sometimes unexpected behavior can be resolved with a restart. Check out the section ‘Restart your Mac' here: Shut down or restart your Mac
  5. If you have a compatible Mac model, the latest version is macOS 13.2. You can verify this by clicking on the Apple logo at the top left corner of the screen, then on ‘About This Mac’. In case you needed it, this link shows how to first back up, then Update macOS on Mac.

Cheers!

G'day mwisha,

Thanks for following up. By any chance, do you use Screen Time on the Mac in question? If so, we'd like to have you do a test and click Apple menu () > System Settings > Screen Time. Then, if you use Family Sharing, you'll click the Family Member menu and select your own account. Then turn off the Screen Time passcode, turn Screen Time off, and test it out to see if you're able to accept those terms and conditions: Turn off Screen Time on your Mac - Apple Support

If the issue persists, or if you're not using Screen Time at all, use this link to contact us directly to further look into this: Apple Support

Take care.

Hi bruno75,

Thanks for the reply.

  1. It started last month, I had a request to update my iCloud account and since then it has kept popping up indefinitely.
  2. A popup comes on the top-right-hand corner of my screen all the time.
  3. My iPhone does not show me this popup, neither does my apple watch.
  4. I have restarted my MacBook a couple of times to resolve the issue, I had gone to safe mode to make it go away as well, but no solution.
  5. I constantly update my devices to the latest version. I have done so and my Mac's version is current.

Do you have any idea how this issue can be solved?

Thanks

Howdy ryane77,

I followed the steps you suggested. Screen Time is turned off, yet I still have that popup. I can't seem to get rid of this issue. After doing all you told me, I restarted the Mac, but as soon as I returned to the home screen, right before I opened any program, I was greeted by that popup. It's so annoying that I can't really focus on my work with that thing coming up so frequently.

Nonetheless, thanks for your help.
