Can People with Disabilities Opt-Out of Update Features?

As a permanently disabled veteran with developmental disabilities, every time I am required up update my phone, features that take me months to learn to use change. It would be one thing if there was logic behind the changes or if they actually improved the use of the phone. However this is not the case and I want to know whether people with disabilities and elderly people can have a choice to opt-out of features that decrease user efficiency. For instance, the 16.0 upgrade that moved the search bar from the top of the screen to the bottom was illogical and really makes me believe your upgrades have nothing to do with security and more about playing God. Make it make sense please? 🙏🏽

You don't have to update your iPhone immediately to new software as soon is out. Sometimes it's better to wait and read here and there about what's new in new software before big change is made.

That said, a lot of changes are made because of feedback Apple received from their users. Like all of us here, feel free to share your feedback with Apple through the feedback form at www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.

Meanwhile, with Safari in iOS 16, Apple did include an option to use the App in Single tab mode where unified address/search bar is moved back to the top. Here is document providing instructions how to do it: Change the layout in Safari on iPhone – Apple Support (UK)
