Downloaded podcasts won't erase.

Downloaded podcasts won't erase. I have already followed the steps to erase them, but as soon as I close and open the app, they are back. Therefore, iPhone storage won't reduce.

Downloaded podcasts won’t delete! I’ve tried everything to delete downloaded Podcasts. In the library, I slide to the left and press remove download, and after I do that, they are all still there. In settings, iPhone storage, I tried to delete and they won’t delete the pop right back up these podcasts are taking all my storage space and I can’t get rid of them. Help!!!

Downloaded podcasts aren’t being removed after being played I have an iPhone 12 running iOS 18.4.1. For about the past month, both podcasts that I receive by automatic download and podcasts I download manually are not being removed after they have been played. In Settings > Apps > Podcasts, I have Remove Played Downloads selected. I had also toggled this several times without solving the problem. On 5/18/25, I deleted the Apple Podcast app, restarted my iPhone, and then downloaded a fresh version of the Apple Podcast app from the App Store. Now it is several days later and podcasts I have listened to over the past few days are still in my Downloaded folder. Please advise what I need to do to get my played podcasts to remove themselves from the Downloaded folder automatically once again. Thank you.

Unable to delete podcasts and iPhone storage too full I am unable to delete podcasts from iphone XR. Its automatically set to "delete after playing" - but they do not delete (only noticed it in the last few weeks - might have been related to having to wipe the iphone and reinstall all apps / etc about a month ago). When I manually delete episodes - they come back within seconds. When I unsubscribe from the podcast - the downloaded episodes still remain - even after manually trying to delete. When I deleted the podcast app - the episodes are still taking up storage room in my phone and cannot remove. I only use the podcast app (i.e. not through iTunes or other device). Cannot upgrade to ios16.2 as dont have enough free storage (due to podcasts taking up ~2/3 of storage even after deleting the app). Am currently on ios 16.1.2. All help greatly appreciated!

I don't even have a "remove all downloads" button to tap. Help! LOL
