high Sierra boot disk permissions
how do I ise terminal to fix this error when trying to access my boot drive "The operation can’t be completed because you don’t have the necessary permission."

I believe that I solve the problem by using the command csrutil disable in recovery mode rebooting in normal mode, adding myself and identifying myself as the owner, then Returning to recovery mode and reenabling csrutil.
raging pain in my butt. Woukd be nice to understand the why behind this to avoid it in the future…
