Dictation using the word document from Microsoft Office 365

How do I access the microphone.

I have a newly downloaded Office 365 with a subscription and a newly purchased Mac mini in May 2022. Mac OS Monterey Version 12.3 Mac mini (M1, 2020)

All I get is a notice ' not able to access the microphone'

and then 'not able to locate microphone' ???

The MacMini does not have a microphone.

You need an external USB or Bluetooth headset or microphone. Any Bluetooth headphones/earpods with microphones will work.
