Mac mini M2 Pro cannot detect onboard USB-C Hub in Dell U2421E monitor

I have problem to use the onboard hub in the monitor with my new Mac mini M2 Pro.

In particular, I plugged Ethernet, USB keyboard and mouse, and external hard drive directly to the monitor, and use the original USB-C cable to connect the monitor to the computer so that the laptop can recognise all the devices.

It works well with my dell xps in both Windows and Linux but does not work with Mac mini.

Precisely, only the display works, the monitor hub does not work for Mac.

Is is normal? Where does the problem come from dell monitor or Mac mini?

Try using two cables from the Mac mini out to the Dell display.

A USB-C to DisplayPort cable or high quality HDMI cable for the video signal.

Then a USB cable for the displays built-in down stream USB hub.

I have this problem too, with an NEC EA271U. It worked completely fine with my previous Intel Mini. A secondary cable isn't a solution, I neither have enough ports available in the Mini to run another cable, nor am I interested in more cable clutter. This shouldn't be necessary.
