MacBook Air M2 input volume keeps going down during RingCentral calls

When I have RingCentral Meetings, which I do daily for my job, people are complaining that they can't hear me (voice going in and out) or that they can barely hear me.

I had a bottom case on and thought that might be covering up the relevant microphones, but uncovering it didn't fix the issue.

Further, I notice that my input volume is lowered automatically....? How can I stop this from occurring during RingCentral Meeting calls and in general?

Thank you hive mind for any help you can provide!

Hello docfox1972,

Thanks for choosing the Apple Support Communities. We see you're having sound issues on a particular app. To start, does this happen anywhere else? We have a few resources that may be able to help resolve the issue.

First make sure you have the right input for your Mic on your Mac.

Control access to the microphone on Mac - Apple Support

If you're not hearing well, check this resource out for troubleshooting your speakers and sound.

If you can’t hear sound from your Mac speakers - Apple Support

It may also be a good idea to reach out to the developers of the app itself to see if there are settings you can change in app.

We hope this helps.

Cheers!
