Mac Screen Brightness Still Resets with Boot

I've tried these suggestions

Screen brightness is being reset to maxim… - Apple Community

Seems a lot of people are having this issue, and Apple hasn't done anything about it or even posted an update. When will this bug be fixed? There are several bugs I've been noticing on iOS and Mac over the last few years since COVID started. Has quality just detiorirated now, and we can't rely on the Apple quality in software like we used to? It seems Apple is pushing our more features over quality. Can this be fixed please? What is going on internally such that this is now the norm for glaring bugs to be present for years?

This particular brightness issue...

It makes using Mac JARRING experience at night, if you turn your Mac off often to save battery, then turn it back on at night like I do, the brightness is unbearable. It stays at Max brightness settings until after login. Does Apple even care? Or doesn't care?

Is there a hack or even way to jailboot my laptop because Apple doesn't care to make the Mac perform the way we need as users, there is no inbuilt setting and seems to be no care by team to add a default brightness or brightness override here that persists and is read before MAC is even rebooted.

Hey there phenomannan,

As you have several questions, we'd like to address each one at a time. Regarding feedback about using your Mac, you can use this link to submit it to Apple for consideration: Product Feedback

For your question about jailbreaking/hacking your Mac, this is something we, along with Apple, do not suggest ever doing. The major reason being increasing your chances of having security vulnerabilities. While this link discusses more about this in relation to an iOS device, the same details still apply with your Mac: Unauthorized modification of iOS can cause security vulnerabilities, instability, shortened battery life, and other issues

Moving forward with troubleshooting the issue you're having with the brightness settings after restarting your Mac, we'd like to confirm more details to better understand what's happening, along with ruling out some possible causes:

  1. We understand that you're setting the brightness of the screen while using your Mac, but upon restarting it, this is where we're not quite understanding what's occurring. What exactly occurs when you restart your Mac, log in, then check the brightness setting? In other words, how has it changed from when you set it prior to restarting your Mac after logging into your account? The more details you provide, the better we'll understand the issue.
  2. Do you have the option to automatically adjust brightness enabled? You can find more details under the section 'Automatically adjust brightness' here: Change your Mac display’s brightness
  3. When did this first start to occur?
  4. We see you have macOS Catalina installed, but the latest for that older macOS version is macOS Catalina 10.15.7. Is this the currently installed version in your Mac? You can verify this by clicking on the Apple logo at the top left corner of the screen, then on ‘About This Mac’. In case you needed it, this link shows how to first back up, then Update macOS on Mac.

Cheers!
